After working as a consultant at McKinsey and as government advisor, I spent 20 years as a CEO — leading the logistics company InterFerryBoats, the rail freight company Lineas, and the real estate and construction group Camino.

My personal transformation began in 2019. I had reached all the goals I had put for myself and still felt stressed, lonely, and, I realized, deeply unhappy. So I made the deliberate decision to turn my life around. After an awakening experience in February 2020, an eighteen-month sabbatical, and a deep transformational journey at a spiritual school, I led one more company. This time as a conscious leader. And that made all the difference, for myself, the organisation, the company.

Today I show up in life completely differently: genuinely happy, regardless of circumstances. It's my passion to show other CEOs that path, and to guide them toward a life that's not just more successful, but more meaningful, fulfilling, and happier. So that they, too, can inspire the people in their companies, and create the conditions for others to live that way.

More than twenty years ago, I started my career at Accenture and went on to take leadership roles at the intersection of finance, strategy, and transformation. A defining chapter was my time at Ariad Group, where — as leader and shareholder — I helped grow the company to over 100 consultants across the Benelux. After a successful sale, I became Managing Director and led the organization for two more years post-acquisition.

From the outside, it looked like success — and in many ways, it was. Yet across both professional and personal environments, I became increasingly aware of how deeply the quality of human connection shapes our wellbeing. Whenever connection was absent or fragile, I felt it. I began to understand that beneath performance and structure, it is the relational fabric that determines whether people and organizations truly thrive.

Today, I dedicate myself to building that fabric. Within Business Alchemy, I bring leaders together and help create environments of trust, depth, and shared responsibility. While I still appreciate the ambition and intensity of high-performing companies, I am drawn to a broader mission: designing communities where people reconnect with themselves, with others, and with life. As a father and a leader, I believe conscious leadership begins in the quality of our relationships — and I am committed to building the spaces where it can emerge.
